Yvonne "Bonnie" J. Petersen, 85, of Loves Park died April 5, 2022. Born September 27, 1936 in Rockford; daughter of Willard and Marie (Anderson) Huber. Graduate of West High School. Bonnie obtained her Certified Nursing Assistant certification through Rock Valley College. United in marriage to Paul Petersen on July 24, 1953. Bonnie was employed as a CNA at Walter Lawson, RockVale Children's Home and as an in-home caregiver, prior to her retirement. Member of the Loves Park VFW Post 9759. She was a dedicated grandmother. She enjoyed coloring, creating art pieces and doing puzzles. Survived by children, Debrah (Craig Swenson) Moline, Mark Petersen, Steven (Diane) Petersen, Colleen "Kelly" (Rick) Allen, Marlene (Darrel Vereecken) Donaldson; grandchildren; Fred (Amy) Ekberg, Paul (Tammy) Petersen, Megan Schumann, Blake, Conner and Garrett Donaldson, Weston Davila; several great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Huber; and special friend, Blanche Donaldson. Preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter-in-law, Dawn Petersen. Visitation Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 4301 N. Main St. Rockford.
