William George King, 83, of Rockford died on December 20, 2017 in his home, surrounded by loved ones. Born March 8, 1934 in Hoxie, AR, son of William James and Rose Nellie (Carley) King. United in marriage to Vicki Ames on June 4, 1975. He was a self-employed contractor, specializing in siding. Bill loved watching all types of sports, his favorite football team was the New England Patriots. Survived by wife, Vicki; children, William Leith (Michelle) King of Durand, Katrina Ann (Ryan) Baun of Gurnee, Timothy Wade King of Rockford; son-in-law, Steven Ward of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Steven, Christopher, Amber, Jeremy (Stephanie), Ryan, Tiffany, Kyrie, Roland, Sophia; great-granddaughter, Barbara Ann; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Christina Ward; sister, Ima Jean Allen; and brother, Robert King. Celebration of Life Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 5 p.m. at Rockford Seventh-day Adventist Church, 325 N. Alpine Rd. Rockford; Pastor Leonardo Oliveria will officiate. Memorial Visitation at 4 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bill's memory to Mercy Health at Home Hospice or the Worthy Student Fund at Alpine Christian School.
