Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather
William "Bill" Gill Cochran, 86, of Rockford went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in his home. He was born April 3, 1926 to Nellie Gill Cochran and William Cleopas Cochran in Monroe Center. He married Shirley M. Erickson May 7, 1949. They enjoyed 63 years together. Bill graduated from East High School in 1945, and attended Rock Valley College to become an electrician. He was a long time member of First Evangelical Free Church where he worked as a custodian for 18 years. He was a member of the Berean Sunday School Class. Bill worked at Rockford Products as an electrician and retired after 29 years. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley; daughters, Mary Lou (Randy) Carlson of Norfolk, VA, Judy (Doug) Peterson of Fairmont, MN, Sharon (Bill) Boyden of Overland Park, KS, Jane (Neil) Jensen of Fairmont, MN, Ellen (Brent) Whitlock of Naperville; 10 Grandchildren; 10 Great-Grandchildren; sister, Carolyn (Homer) Erickson of West Lafayette, IN; brother, David (Chris) Cochran of Sun City, AZ. A Memorial Service will be Monday, July 30, 2012 at 10 a.m. at First Evangelical Free Church, 2223 North Mulford Rd. Rockford. Pastor Chuck Rife will officiate.
