Wesley Clark Newman, 63, of Rockford lost his battle with cancer and peacefully passed away on July 20, 2023 at home. Born November 1, 1959 in Rockford; son of David and Mildred (Pals) Newman. Graduate of Winnebago High School, class of 1977. Married 44 years to his high school sweetheart, Diane Westphal on April 21, 1979 in Rockford. Wesley was employed as an Applicator with the DeLong Company and Nutrien. Wesley went above and beyond to make sure the customers he assisted were satisfied with the service he provided. He called his son daily to see what needed tending to on the family farm and was always ready to assist. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and cooking for his family and coworkers. His "Wes Burger" was legendary and a frequent meal request. Survived by his wife, Diane; children, Kyle (Audra, and her daugther, Addy) Newman, Melissa Newman; grandson, Kowen Newman; siblings, Rita Kruse, Juanita (Greg) Cunningham, Mary Ellen (Scott) Droy, Warren (Mary) Newman; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Dale Kruse; nephews, Michael Kruse and Justin Cunningham. Visitation Sunday, July 30, 2023 from 2 pm to 4 pm at Burritt Grange Hall, 8284 Trask Bridge Road. Celebration of life on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 1 pm at the farm.
