Virginia Clara Rothacher Frederick 97, of Rockford, passed away Friday, July 5, 2013, at home peacefully surrounded with loving family. Born October 30, 1915 in Nome, Alaska; daughter of Norman and Bessie Rothacher. Worked as an elevator operator in the Federal building in Fairbanks, sales associate for Real Silk Hosiery Mills, an Electronic Assembler, a Colonic therapist and now retired. Member of Alaskan Yukon Pioneers, Order of the Eastern Stars, Sinissippi Quilters, and Womanspace. Virginia enjoyed the Arts (Concerts, Plays, Musicals and Art shows), Photography, Knitting, Crocheting, Sewing, Quilting, Travel, Hiking, Camping, Rock Hounding, Square Dancing, but most of all loved friends and family and lived life with enthusiasm. Survivors include her children Arden Triol of Arizona, Brian (Carol) Gilmore of California, Starr (Art) Pittaway of Rockford. Grandchildren Brian Pittaway, Jason (Nicole) Pittaway, William Pittaway, Sarah Pittaway, Allyson (Tracy) Marsh, Kelly (Zack) Miller, Pam Sevcik. Great-grandchildren Ariel, Aaron, Adelaide, Oliver, Parker Pittaway, Kaylee and Connor Marsh, Grace Miller, Harley and Destiney Sevcik; several nieces, nephews and cousins Predeceased by parents, daughter Melody Frederick and sister Marion (Willie) Ashenbrenner and brothers William, Ray, Tom (Toni), and Lee Rothacher. At 10 a.m. on Saturday July 13, 2013, her family and friends will gather to celebrate her glorious life, with a time of sharing memories at 11 a.m. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 1340 South Alpine Rd. Rockford. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family for a memorial to be established in Virginia's name.
