Verna A. (Price) Snyder, 65, of Rockford went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 24, 2014 at 10:19 a.m. surrounded by her family and friends in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Born on May 28, 1948 in Rockford, daughter of Donald and Nina (Furman) Roux. United in marriage to Harold Price on August 31, 1968 in Rockford. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2000. On June 12, 2004, she was united in marriage to William Snyder. He preceded her in death on January 23, 2013. Verna was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is greatly missed by her family and friends. Verna is survived by her children; Jerry (Mary Ann Haas) Roux of Ft. Dodge, IA, Angela Speck of Machesney Park, Judy Lantz of Loves Park; grandchildren, Anthony (Bonnie), Shawn and Brooke Lantz, Jeffrey, Shane, Kyle, Danielle, Nathan Speck; great-grandchildren, Tanner, Jazlynne, Eloise, Matthew, Laina, Elliott; siblings, Charles Roux of AZ, Ronald (Pam) Roux of VA, Debra (John) Atchison of Rockford; special friends, Sharon Saunders, Phyllis Phen, Michelle Roux and Daniel Lantz. Preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Leesa Speck, and son-in-law Jeff Speck. Verna was a member of Souls Harbor Church. A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at First Born Ministries, 8213 North Alpine Rd. Machesney Park, with memorial visitation at 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Pastor Joe Chastain of Souls Harbor Church will officiate.
