Thomas J. Hook, 69, of Rockford went to his heavenly home January 4, 2014. He was born April 2, 1944 in Rockford to John and Clara Larkin, later adopted by Roy Hook. Graduated from Savanna High School in 1962. Married Ellen Hurley in Savanna on March 14, 1964. He was a welder for Chicago Northwestern Railroad, Chrysler Corporation and Container Corporation and later sold product for Eutectic Castolin Institute for 21 years. He enjoyed sports, working in the yard, traveling and spending time with his family. Member of Maywood Evangelical Free Church since 1967, serving in several capacities. Although he coped with several physical illnesses for many years, he maintained a positive attitude. Thomas is survived by his wife, Ellen; daughters, Susan (David) Crum of Greenville, NC, Debra (Robert) Schwarzlose of Woodlawn; grandsons, Zachary, Dylan and Tyler Crum, Justin and Logan Schwarzlose; brother-in-law, Wade (Alice) Hurley; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by father John Larkin, mother Clara Hook, father, Roy Hook, half-brother and half-sister. Memorial Service Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Maywood Evangelical Free Church, 3621 Samuelson Rd. Rockford, with memorial visitation at 10 a.m. until the time of service.
