Susan Ann Seidel, 86, of Rockford, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 22, 2014 at 1:00 a.m. in River Bluff Nursing Home. She was born on August 2, 1928 in Knightstown, Indiana, daughter of Edward and Clara Reisener. Graduate of Rock Falls High School. Attended Illinois Wesleyan where she studied piano. United in Marriage to Frank Seidel on February 23, 1957 in Sterling. Susan's family was important to her, she enjoyed spending time with them at family gatherings, traveling to Wisconsin and Florida and eating out at area restaurants. Formerly employed at International Harvester and former member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church. Susan enjoyed watching the birds at River Bluff and playing bingo with the other residents. Survived by her children, Mary (Tim) Fosberg of Rockford, Thomas Seidel of Roscoe, William (Sue) Seidel of Rockford, James Seidel of Baraboo, WI; grandchildren, Stephen (fiancée Jaclyn Sweeney) Seidel of Chicago, Jennifer Seidel of Roscoe, Spencer Seidel, Alyssa Seidel, and Brandon Harmon all of Baraboo, WI; sister-in-law, Betty (Robert) Naughton, of Citrus Hills, FL; niece Rebecca Reitzel of Orlando, FL; and beloved dog, Dolly. Preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Kenny Reitzel and beloved dog, Mindy Sue. Funeral Service Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11 am at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, South Alpine Rd. Rockford, with visitation at 10 am until the time of service. Interment in Oak Knoll Cemetery in Sterling. Susan's family is grateful to the staff at River Bluff, and the team on the Eagle Wing for their loving care.
