Steven Herbert Carlson, 59 of Stillman Valley died on Friday, April 8, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Steven was born on December 13, 1951 in Rockford, son of Herbert and Dorothy Carlson. Married Linda Dray on December 11, 1993 in Byron. Steve was employed as a Construction Foreman for several area construction companies. Member of the LLL Society. He was a wonderful husband and father. He was an avid outdoorsman, and a Packers fan. Steve was loved and respected by his family and by his many friends. Survived by his wife, Linda; step-sons Mitch Dray, Stephen Dray; grandchildren, Elizabeth Dray, Cody Sanders-Dray, Andrew Dray; great-grandson, Andrew Dray II; sister; Sandy (Jim) Fehlhaber; numerous aunts, uncles, niece, Nicole (Mayukh) Mitra, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by his parents and nephew. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 827 16th Street Rockford. Rev. Stephen Klemp will officiate. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Steve's family for a fund to be designated.
