Loving father, grandfather & uncle
Stephen Hollander, 72, of Belvidere died on June 12, 2018. Born on October 12, 1945 in Boston, MA; son of Max and Ada (Feldman) Hollander. Graduate of SUNY Brockport University. Stephen was a bus driver for First Student in Belvidere, a job he greatly enjoyed. Stephen's deadpan delivery and quirky wit and humor will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Stephen was loved greatly by his daughters, and their families. He had a helpful spirit, completing odd jobs for his family. Survived by his loving daughters, Mari Roe of Machesney Park, Faith (John) Frana of Loves Park; special extended family, Betsy and Hillary Humphrey; former spouse and longtime friend, Susan Hollander of Rockford; grandchildren, Ethan and Ellie Roe; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Tyler) Rogers of CA, Michelle Holmquist of IL, Tracy Jankowski of CA, Amy (Chris) Amadon of FL, Sharon (Adam) Hollander-Ross of GA, Matthew (Stacy) Hollander of NY; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and cats, Zaira and Anika. Preceded in death by his parents, and siblings; Earl, Arthur and Barbara Hollander. Graveside service on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 10 am at Rockford Hebrew Cemetery, 819 Cottage Grove Ave. Rockford Rabbi Chesky Rothman will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, 100 Raoul Wallenberg Place SW, Washington, DC 20024-2126 or the American Cancer Society,
