Shannon "Lee" Franks, 55, of Rockford, IL passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 in his home. He was born Thursday, March, 23, 1961 in Altoona, PA. The son of Charles and Freda (Simm) Franks. He graduated from First Baptist Christian School in Rochelle, IL. Lee served in the Army and the Air Force. He loved helping others, gardening, watching classic and old movies, reading, and music. Lee was a beloved son, brother, and uncle that will be greatly missed. His family will cherish the time, and memories that they shared with him. He is survived by: his parents; Sisters, Sheryl (Bill) Crowley, and Charlene Franks; Brother, Shawn (Victoria) Franks; Nephews, Jared, Justin (Sarah), and Jeremy Vyborny, John (Brianna) Crowley, Stephen Manring, Alec, and Tanner Franks; Niece, Jessica (Noel) Sena; Great Nieces and Nephews, Alex, Josh, Julia, Owen, Nico, and expecting baby Cameron. He is preceded in death by his brother in law Greg Manring. There will be a visitation Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 1340 S. Alpine Rd.
