Sandra M. Barnhart, 69 died peacefully on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Swedish American Hospital. Born on January 5, 1941 in Winchester, IN; daughter of Raymond (Josephine) Barnhart. Graduated from Lee L. Driver High School, in Winchester, IN; attended Indiana University. Moved to the Rockford area in 1975. Married Demetri "Jim" Sawchuk on August 17, 1991. Sandra worked for Swedish American Hospital, Maple Crest Nursing Home and Anam Care. She was active in the Rockford Boys Club. Member of St. James Catholic Church. Sandra was very giving and caring to those in need. Loved and missed by family and special friend Don Kammerer. Predeceased by parents; husband Jim; brothers, Steve and Bill; step-son Victor Sawchuk. Survived by sisters: Terri Logan of Richmond, IN Beverly Rector Indianapolis, IN; sister in law, Mimi Barnhart of Louisville, KY; step children; Katrina Edward of Belivdere, Dominic Sawchuk of Belvidere, Marcus Sawchuk of Indianapolis, IN, Anthony Sawchuk of Loves Park, Teresa Tice of Cherry Valley; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
