Rose Antonia Watson, 84, of Rockford, died on September 22, 2018 in Generations at Neighbors. Born on January 17, 1934 in Rockford, daughter of Albert and Mary (Carmona) Godoy. United in marriage to Lonza Watson on August 22, 1953 in Rockford. Survived by her sons, Tom (Shelley) of Rockford, Ken (Lisa) of Winnebago, Steve (Sharon) of Winnebago, Jim (Tonya) Watson of Rockford; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Schiller Park; brother, Alfred Godoy; and a large circle of friends at Bienterra Apartments, including her special friend, Elaine. Preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law, Joanne Watson and husband. Rose was a loving and devoted mother. She was incredibly organized and skilled home maker, who took care of the needs of her four boys throughout their childhood. Rose was a devoted wife to her husband of 63 years. She was a former member of St. Edward's Catholic Church, where she served as a lunch mother through her sons' early years. She was also a member of the choir and served on the Ladies Guild. She treasured the friendships she made with her neighbors at Bienterra Apartments. Memorial visitation on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10 am to 11 am St. Rita's Catholic Church, 6254 Valley Knoll Drive, Rockford; followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 am. Cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Generations at Neighbors, 811 W 2nd St, Byron, IL 61010. Grace Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family.
