Roger Dale Olsen, 62, of Rockton went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 11, 2014 at 6:05 a.m. in his home. Roger was born on March 19, 1952 in Rockford, son of Rudolph C. and Margaret H. (Johnson) Olsen. Graduate of Rockford East High, class of 1970. Roger met his wife, Karen Juedes in the seventh grade, marrying her on September 4, 1971. He retired from Hamilton Sundstrand in 2007, after 30 years of employment. Roger was a member of Teamsters Local 592, and attended Stone Bridge Church. Roger enjoyed riding his Harley. Music was also an important part of his life. He was devoted to his wife and his extended family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Karen; son, Josh (Kristi) Olsen, and her daughters, Alli, Averi, and Addison, and Baby O, due to arrive in November; sister, Lorraine (Dick) Miller, father-in-law, Don Juedes; sister-in-law, Lynn Olsen; brothers-in-law, Paul (Sandy) Juedes, Greg (Mary) Juedes; godsons, Myles and Scott Craglow; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and Bernese Mountain Dogs, Ryder and Harley. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Marcia Juedes; brother, Rudy Olsen, and sister-in-law, Diana Olsen. A Celebration of Roger's Life will be on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at 6 p.m. at the American Center, 221 West Main Street, Rockton. Pastor Scott Nesse will officiate. Memorial Visitation at 4 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a memorial to be determined later. Cremation rites will be accorded.
