Roberta Mae McNames, 92, of Rockford died on December 15, 2022. Born March 12, 1930 in Harrisburg; daughter of Albert and Sylvia (Parmely) Wilkins. Graduate of Risco High School in Missouri. United to marriage to Owen J. Johnson on September 18, 1948 in Piggott, AR. Owen preceded her in death on July 3, 1981. She was employed as a Secretary at Fender Guitar in California, when her husband Owen transferred to Camp Pendleton. She also worked as a Secretary at National Lock and Twin Disc. United in marriage to Clayton McNames on December 3, 1992 in Roscoe. They enjoyed going out dancing, traveling and trip to the casino. Clayton preceded her in death on May 16, 1993. Survived by her children; Shelley (John) Spring of AR, Gayla Sue (Victor McNabb) Newman of Rockford; grandchildren Erica (Gary) Erby of AR, Amy (Sam) Mayo of VA, Jacob (Catherine) Brodnick of AL; great-grandchildren, Anna, Molly, Sam and Owen Mayo of VA, Ben, Alyssa, and Liam Brodnick of AL; brother, Buddy Wilkins of Winnebago. Preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Brian Newman; sister-in-law, Shirlene Wilkins. Visitation on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 10 am to 11 am at Grace Funeral & Cremation Service, 4301 N.
