Roberta "Bobbi" Elaine Johnson, 75, of Rockford, Illinois, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025. She was born on December 9, 1949, in Evansville, IN, the beloved daughter of Claude V. Johnson and Lillian R. Houchins.
Bobbi brought warmth, love, and light to all who knew her. She was a proud and independent woman who embraced life wholeheartedly and on her own terms. Her strength and spirit were an inspiration to her family and friends.
She worked for many years as a Sales Associate at Kmart, where her friendly demeanor and caring nature left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.
To her grandson Nik, Bobbi was nothing short of amazing - the very definition of what a grandmother should be. Though she lovingly teased him about his all-black wardrobe, she delighted in gifting him vibrant clothes, like a tie-dye shirt and cozy maroon socks. Their shared adventures, especially to Niagara Falls, created memories that will be cherished forever.
Bobbi faced life - and its end - with courage and grace. She recognized that parting brings sadness, but she encouraged her loved ones to celebrate her life, grieve with open hearts, and then continue forward with strength and hope. Her love, laughter, and indomitable spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her beloved grandson, Nikolai (Jannelle Moseman) VanThof and sister, Mona (Robert) Overton. Preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Mike Johnson, Victor Johnson and Sterling Riley.
