Robert Theodore "Ted" Osar, 78, of Rockford died March 26, 2023. Born August 14, 1944 in Knoxville, TN; son of Everett and Katherine (Bell) Osar. Graduate of Elgin High School class of 1962. Served in the United States Air Force. Ted retired from the Elgin River Boat Resort, where he was employed as a deck hand; previously employed at Lee Wards. He was a talented photographer and loved to watch old western movies. Ted also trained as a tornado spotter with the National Weather Service at Fermi Lab. Survived by children, Laura (Rick Skrinski) Johnson, Eric (Jenna) Osar; grandchildren, Matthew (Andrea Petty) Johnson, Arianna Osar, Rebecca (Tony) Un, Nick Lubas; brother, Bill Osar; sister-in-law, Karen Osar; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Richard Osar and sister-in-law, Carol Osar. Private services will be held. Memorials may be made to Ted's family.
