Robert P. Miksik, 67 of Roscoe died on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 8:37 a.m. in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 18, 1944 in Berwyn, son of Frank and Lillian Miksik. Graduate of Riverside-Brookfield High School. Served in the US Navy. Attended the University of North Dakota. United in Marriage to Betty Nelson on September 17, 1967 in Cass Lake, MN. Bob loved to visit with friends, travel and was an avid reader. Survived by his wife, Betty, children, Correnna (Randy Stowell) Nelson, of Loves Park, Jeffery Miksik of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Jason Marine of Roscoe, Jordan (Megan Montana) Marine of Loves Park; great granddaughter Ava Rose Montana of Loves Park; brother, Gary (Irene) Miksik of Bloomington, IN. Preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Miksik in 1969, parents, cousin, Floyd "Buddy" Koch; and Aunt, Val Koch.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on February 1, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Heartland Community Church, 1280 South Alpine Rd. Rockford. Memorial Service, February 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Heartland. Pastor Gordy Smith will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded. As an expression of sympathy memorial contribution may be made to Bob's family.
