Robert Lee Marquith, 69 of Rockford Graduated to Glory on Friday, February 4, 2011. Bob was born on February 16, 1941 in Galesburg, son of Edwin and Elizabeth Marquith. Married Janice Gregory on August 30,1997. Retired from Custom Metals in 2003. Attended Heartland Community Church. Bob loved spending time with his grandchildren. He shared his loved of cooking by making them pancakes, and made the best scalloped corn. Bob and Janice enjoyed long walks together. He is survived by his wife, Janice; daughter, Karen (Jeff Parkin) Jones; sons, Jeff Marquith, Dennis Marquith, all of Galesburg; step-daughters, Kimberly (Richard) Watkins of Rockford, Julie (Mike) Prince Jr. of Rockford; step-sons, Leldon W. Drinkard of San Diego, CA, Tony Jo Sambrano of Long Beach, CA; 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Edwin R. Marquith; Sister, Sally Benedict; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend and chair side pal, Jake.
A Celebration of Bob's life will be held on Monday, February 7, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation two hours prior to the service at Heartland Community Church, 1280 South Alpine Rd. Rockford. Pastor Michael McDermott will officiate. Private family interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
