Robert R. Knight, 70, of Rockford went to be with his Lord and Saviour on November 13, 2014 at 5:09 p.m. in Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 19, 1943 in Rockford, son of Robert and Doris (Roland) Knight. Graduate of West High and Pillsbury Baptist Bible Baptist College. United in marriage to Nancy McCrillis on August 20, 1965 in Rockford. Robert served as pastor at numerous Baptist churches and other ministries in the Midwest. He was also a licensed nursing home administrator. Survived by wife, Nancy; children, Kim Knight of Rockford, Kevin (Melodi) Knight of Cherry Valley, Jason (Holly) Knight of Marysville, OH; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Rachael (Dean) Blakeney of Rockford, Sue (Dean) Collings of Aylett, VA, Judi (Tim) Rehfeldt of Rockford; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by parents, daughter, Wendy Farmer; and in-laws, Wallace and Donna McCrillis. Robert's family is grateful to the staff at Fairhaven and Heartland Hospice for their loving care. Funeral Service will be November 22, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Machesney Park, 718 Harlem Rd; visitation at 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Pastor Kelvin Swanson will officiate.
