Richard "Dick" James Todd, 78, of Rockford went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 14, 2026. Born March 17, 1947 in Oak Park; son of Adam and Ruth (Peterson) Todd. Graduate of Oak Park River Forest High School, class of 1965. He attended the College of Advanced Traffic and obtained his certification in transportation. Dick co-founded Todd Transit with his wife, Linda. Their company expanded focus and services over the course of their careers to include Todd Special Services and Todd Leasing. United in Marriage to Linda Jackson on August 19, 1967 at St. Peter's Evangelical Church in Forest Park. Dick loved the Lord and was an active volunteer at City First Church, Christian Business Men's Committee (CBMC), an elder at Rockford Rescue Mission, and sang Handel's "Messiah" with the Rockford Choral Union. In his free time, he liked to bowl, fish, golf and sail. Dick and Linda enjoyed visiting Eagle River, WI together. He was truly the best husband, dad, grandpa and father-in-law ever. Survived by his wife, Linda; children, Sherry (John) Butzow, Michael (Mary) Todd, Jason (Kirsten) Todd and former wife Beth Spiritosanto; grandchildren, Andrew (Ashlyi) Butzow, Hannah Butzow, Sarah Butzow, Rebekah Butzow, Reilly (Jacob) McClanahan, Joel (Jenna) Todd, Sam (Kayle) Todd, Ella Todd, Nathaniel Todd, Noah Todd, Madeline Todd, Hayle Kohls, Lilly Kohls, Shane Kohls; great-grandchildren, Elsie, Annie, Wilson and Emily. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Reneker - Burd; brothers-in-law, Bill Reneker, Bill Burd; pets, Zipper, Happy, Snooky, Sandy and Taffy. Visitation on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 8:30 am to 10:30 am at First Covenant Church, 316 Wood Rd, Rockford, IL, followed by a funeral service at 10:30 am, and luncheon.
