Richard S. Lyford, 81, of Rockford died on January 8, 2014 at 10:10 p.m. in River Bluff Nursing Home. He was born on February 13, 1932 in Rockford, son of Walter and Martha (Mills) Lyford. Richard was a self-employed carpenter. He loved horses and his dog Rocky. Survived by his children, Heather (Brian Tobler) Hull of Rochelle, Dawn (Jason Zipse) Tavernie of Rockford, Shawn (Kim Cason) Lyford of Rockford, Ryan (Leah Menoni) Lyford of Durand; grandchildren, Anthony, Kyle, Brandon, Sheldon, Carmen, Kregg, and Teagan; sister, Frances Lyford of Oklahoma; and nephews, Wade, Dwight and Chris. Preceded in death by his parents, son Glenn Lyford, and dog Rocky. Private Family Services. Grace Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
