Richard "Richie" Hole, 77 of Rockford died on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 in OSF St. Anthony Medical Center. Richie was born on October 6, 1933 in Alliance Ohio, son of Charles and Ruth Hole. Graduated from Kent State with a Bachelor Degree in Aviation Technology. Served in the US Army. United in Marriage on December 21, 1957 in Martins Ferry, Ohio to his wife of 54 years, Patty Sue. Richie retired from Sundstrand, where he worked as a buyer. Member of Woodside Congregational and First Free Churches. He loved flying airplanes and building model planes. Survived by his wife, Patty; daughters Carol (Dean) Ervin, Cindy Brown; granddaughters, Kelly (Nick) Jones, Amy (Tom) Heck; great grandchildren, Riley Jones, Brandon and Blake Heck; brother in law, William (Patty Ann) Floyd; and granddogs, Charlie Brown, Madison and Morgan Ervin. Preceded in death by his parents, and brother Charles Hole. Richie's family would like to thank Dr. Steven Diamond and the OSF Medical Center for the compassionate care they provided. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 1340 South Alpine Rd. Rockford with visitation one hour prior to the service.
