Phyllis Marilyn Willms, 90, of Rockford, passed away on September 5, 2026. Born on October 19, 1935, in Kennedy, Minnesota, she was the daughter of Victor and Henrietta (Ekwall) Anderson. Phyllis was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls, Minnesota.

Bowling played a special role throughout Phyllis's life, even bringing her and her husband, Roger, together. The two met at a bowling center and were united in marriage on March 17, 1979. Throughout their 47 years of marriage, bowling remained something they both enjoyed, participating in numerous leagues both individually and together and forming many friendships along the way.

Phyllis also made bowling her career. She retired from Don Carter Lanes, where she wore many hats over the years, including organizing and running bowling leagues. She was also employed at other bowling centers throughout the community. An avid and accomplished bowler herself, Phyllis's dedication to the sport and the local bowling community earned her induction into the Rockford Bowling Hall of Fame.

Away from the lanes, Phyllis enjoyed settling in with a good book and was a devoted Minnesota Vikings fan. She also had a special love for hostas and took great pride in growing many different varieties. Whether tending to her plants, cheering on the Vikings, reading, or spending time at the bowling lanes, Phyllis found happiness in the things she loved and the people she shared them with.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Roger Willms; children, Douglas, Tracy, and Bradley Bakke; daughter-in-law, Kim Adams Bakke; grandchildren, Kenzie (Brent) Bakke Vondra and Bjorn Bakke; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Wayne Bakke; and siblings, Eugene Ekwall, Gayle Anderson, and Dean Anderson.
