Norma S. Royster, 96 of Rockford died peacefully on Sunday, November 14, 2010. She was born on May 22, 1914 in Aurora; daughter of Hugh and Kathryn (Schomer) Curry. Norma was a retired caregiver. Married Marvin A. Royster in 1933, he preceded her in death on January 23, 1991. Survived by her daughter, Mary (Ron) Krepfle, sons, Marvin K. (Carolyn), Norman (Judy), John (Kristin); daughter in law, Carol Hathaway; 23 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and special friend, Norma Barnes. Preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Marilyn; sons, James, Charles and Timothy; and 5 brothers and sisters, and special friend Lloyd Owen.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010 at 11 a.m. in Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 1340 South Alpine Road, Rockford, with Father William Wentink officiating; with visitation one hour prior to service in the funeral home. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Many thanks to Hospice Care of America for their living care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
