Mirna Pérez (Elmer), 74, of Rockford died March 18, 2013 at 6:10 p.m. in her home. She was born on August 4, 1938 in Guantanamo, Cuba; daughter of Roberto Pérez López and Silvia Pérez Suarez. She is survived by her daughters; Bárbara (José) Díaz of Rockford, Reyna Iribar of Las Vegas, NV; mother, Silvia Pérez Suarez of,West New York, NJ; grandchildren, Brittni Jade (Estibents) Díaz, Adrian Díaz, Zeely Tsai; great grandchild, Mia Verde; siblings, Juan (Patricia) Pérez, Florana (Angel) Peña, Antonia (Luis) Pérez, Isabel Pérez; and many family members and friends. Preceded in death by her father. Mirna was a giving, caring person who enjoyed helping others. She loved to travel and shop and one of her favorite activities was spending time at the casino. She retired from Chrysler. A Memorial Service will be Friday, March 22, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 1340 South Alpine Rd. - At Colonial Village. Pastor Leonardo Rodriguez will officiate. Visitation from 6:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Additional visitation immediately following service until midnight, Saturday, March 23, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested in Mirna's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Cremation rites will be accorded. Private family interment in New Jersey.
