Obituary

Mildred D. Wagner, 87 of Machesney Park, Ill. died on January 4, 2013 at 11:02 p.m. in Rosewood Care Center. She was born on January 8, 1925 in Barrington, Ill. daughter of August and Elizabeth (Keisler) Bruns. Mildred was raised on a farm outside of Barrington, where she attended county schools and North School in Crystal Lake. United in marriage to Joseph H. Fowler. Together they had three sons, Larry J. Fowler of Machesney Park, Jim L. Fowler of Charleston, SC, and Paul (Lori) Fowler of Carmel, IN. Husband Joseph preceded her in death on September 25, 1972. She married Michael J. Wagner, he also preceded her in death on April 24, 1989. Mildred owned and operated numerous restaurants in the Marengo and Loves Park communities. She was a fan of the Bulls and Bears and was a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, rarely missing a game on television. She was a member of the Women of the Moose of Woodstock and Harvard Lodges. Survived by her sons; grandsons, Donald L. Fowler of Machesney Park, Jimmy Fowler of Sumter, SC, Cubby Fowler of Sumter, SC; great-granddaughter, Deanna L. Fowler of Oviedo, FL; and siblings, LeRoy (Elsie) Bruns of Iron Mountain, MI, Lucille Pedersen of Crystal Lake. Preceded in death by her siblings, Harold Bruns, Adelene Underwood, Verdell Gritmacher, and Bernice Popp. Cremation rites will be accorded. Per Mildred's wishes, no services will be held.
