Mikeral "Mike" Wayne Ball, 59, of Mt. Morris died July 30, 2013 at 7:01 a.m. in St. Anthony OSF Medical Center With his family by his side. He was born May 14, 1954 in Scott City, KS, son of Raymond and Lucille (Bean) Ball. United in marriage to Shari Pearce on March 15, 1980 in Rockford. Mike was employed at Black Eagle (formerly Rockford Products) for 40 years. He was a wonderful husband who treated his wife like a queen. He worked hard for his family, and loved his children greatly. He was looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild in the fall. Mike enjoyed spending time on his Goldwing, gardening, woodworking and his dogs. He could also be found outside camping, fishing and boating. Member of Heartland Community Church, where he served in the Sharestuff Store and on the Traffic Team and was known as "Shorts". Survived by wife, Shari; children, Timothy Ball of Kissimmee, FL, Jessica (Mark) Lewis of Mt. Morris; siblings, Joseph Ball, Jerry Ball, Ronald (Kristine) Ball, George (Lisa) Ball, Jack Ball; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, and infant brother Charles Edward Ball. A Visitation will be Saturday, August 3, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Heartland Community Church, 1280 South Alpine Rd.
