Mike Alan Mernack, 54, of Rockford died on Sunday, September 4, 2016 in his home. Born on January 31, 1962 in Rockford, son of Lester Mernack and Mary Lou Dale. Mike was employed as a roofer for several area companies. He was a good hearted person, who was always willing to help others. Mike enjoyed working in his yard, and hosting cookouts for his friends. Survived by his children, Michael, Eric, Shane and Shawn Mernack; 4 grandchildren; siblings, Cheryl (Mike) Crimmins, Alan (Helen) Mernack; sister-in-law, Doris Mernack; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Gary Mernack, and infant brother Terry Mernack. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.
