Maureen Vera Baggs, 66, of Rockford was Promoted to Glory on October 30, 2015. Born on October 8, 1949 in England, she was the daughter of Charles (Jim) and Lucy (Gordon) Leversuch. Maureen was United in Marriage to Derek Baggs on November 23, 1968. Maureen was a member of The Salvation Army, where she was a dedicated volunteer and received The Salvation Army Individual Service Award in 2007. Maureen was a member and officer in the local TOPS IL Chapter # 2123 for many years. She was an avid quilter and a member of a local quilting group. Maureen was a loving and devoted wife, mother and Nana. Survived by her husband, Derek of Rockford; daughters, Deborah (Dan Stogsdill) Baggs, Karen (Bryant) Erickson; granddaughters, Alexandra and Kaitlynn Erickson, all of Rockford; brother, Norman (Hazel) Leversuch; nephew, Christopher (Katie) Leversuch; niece, Wendy Leversuch, all of England.; and an extensive circle of extended family and many special friends. Preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Service on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Salvation Army Temple Corps, 500 South Rockford Ave. Rockford, Majors Steve and Christine Merritt will officiate. Visitation at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment in Willwood Burial Park.
