Mary Elaine Walker, 45 of Machesney Park went to be with the Lord at 11:32 pm on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Rockford Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. She was born on December 25, 1964 in Santa Monica, California, daughter of John and Barbara (Derrickson) Villa. Mary was a graduate of Hononegah High School and operated her own accounting business. She was United in Marriage to Bill Walker on September 28, 2001. Mary had a knack for gardening and loved blessing her friends and neighbors with her homecooked food. Mary is survived by her husband; mother; sons, Kirk Villa of Machensey Park, Toby Waits of Rochelle; step-daughter, Ashley Walker of Machesney Park; siblings, Diane (Don) Ramsey of Clinton, WI, Jay Villa of New York, NY; second mother and special friend, JoAnn (Al) Ferrara of Machesney Park; a large extended family; many other wonderful neighbors and friends; and beloved cats, Smudge and Cub. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at noon at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 1340 South Alpine Rd. Rockford, with visitation from 10 am until the time of the service; Officiant Fr. William Wentink. Memorials may be made to the family. Cremation rites will be accorded.
