Mary Elizabeth Robinson Roy, 90, of Rockford died on March 1, 2015 at home. Mary Beth was born on September 2, 1924 in Jackson County, IL to Carl and Beatrice (Roseberry) Robinson. She attended Carbondale High School, then Southern Illinois University where she met Dean, her husband of over 50 years. Mary Beth loved playing golf for the majority of her life. Mary Beth retired from Rockford Health System. She enjoyed watching baseball, especially the Cubs and playing card games. Her family and friends will always remember her as a very loving, strong and dedicated person. Survived by her daughter, Linda Lou Roy of Rockford; grandchildren, Hayward Benjamin "Ben" Roy of Chicago, Wanda Lynn (John Adams) Little of Madison, WI; great-grandchildren, Madeline McKenzie Roy and Carl Pedersen. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dean Roy and son, Harl Steven Roy. Memorial Service Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 2 p.m. at 2nd Congregational/1st Presbyterian Church, 318 N. Church Street, Rockford, Rev. David W. Jones officiant. Reception to follow in the dining room, all are welcome to come and celebrate Mary Beth's life. The family would like to thank Hospice Care of America; friends, Angela Lewis, Barbara Gill and our church family for the physical and emotional support given.
