Mary L. Hamp, 96, of Rockford died on February 13, 2021.Born on February 12, 1925 in Kirkland; daughter of Everett and Agnes (Helm) Nuckles. Graduate of Belvidere High School.  United in marriage to George Hamp on July 17, 1943.  Mary attended beauty school in Chicago and was employed as a hair stylist and model at Carson Pirie Scott in her younger years.  She also worked at Wesley Willows as the staff hair stylist, and upon her retirement from there she volunteered and was employed at Logli as the Bread Lady in the bakery, where she treated small children to cookies.  Member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.  Mary was an active member of the YMCA, where she held the 2 minutes planking record for her age bracket.  She also enjoyed taking her dog Foxy to the dog park.  Mary was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She never forgot to send a card for a birthday or anniversary.  Survived by her sons, Mark and Matthew Hamp; grandchildren, Casey (Ramont) Mitchell, Luke Hamp, Jenna Hamp, Holden Hamp, Quinton (Joanna) Hamp, Courtney (Taylor) Hamp, Rebecca (Nathan) Teegarden, Timothy (Ashley) Hamp, Tabbitha (Grant) Akin, Charity (Cody) Speckman, Elisha Hamp, Nicholas Hamp; 16 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; and beloved dog, Foxy.  Preceded in death by her parents, husband, four siblings, Great Dane; Zeus, Doberman Pinchers; Delilah and Sampson.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name may be made to Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary.  Visitation Thursday, February 18, 2021 from noon to 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 4301 N. Main St. Rockford at 1 p.m.  Pastor Eric Lemonholm will officiate.
