Obituary

Marilyn J. Carlson Treadman Fridh passed away Saturday April 30, 2011 in her home, the place she loved best. Born January 14, 1925 in Rockford to Ernest and Bertha Carlson she was the youngest of five children. Her brother Herbert (Hub) was her best friend. She learned the beauty of watching things grow and of all nature in her father's garden. She loved her pet companions dearly. Marilyn had an artistic eye and enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She was a proud mother and home maker. Marilyn was a loving guide to her children; daughter, Pamela (Mike) Renstrom; son, Mark (Jaci) Fridh; grandchildren, Michael Renstrom, Marisa (Logan) Hautamaki, Brienne (Ryan) Kennedy, Heather Ruiz; great grandchildren, Tyler and Annika Ruiz; her foster grandkids and nieces and nephews. Her home was her world and all of her children were the stars in her sky. In her quiet way she taught the true value of family every day of her life. Preceded in death by her parents, brothers Gordon and Donald, sister, Elaine and husbands Fred Treadman and Walter Fridh. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Kouimelis and the doctors and nurses at OSF, OSF Hospice and to the ladies at Home Instead, Bonnie, Dawn and Char for their thoughtful care.
