Maria G. Perez, 91, of Rockford, died on December 22, 2024. Born August 15, 1933 in Puruarán, Michoacán, Mexico; daughter of Juan and Herminia (Vazquez) Lopez. She married Neftali A. Perez on May 23, 1954, they celebrated 63 years of marriage prior to his death in 2018. Maria loved her family, gardening and cooking. Maria loved cats, especially her beloved Daisy. Her laughter will be missed by her circle of family and friends. Survived by children, Peter (Jaci) Perez, Raul (Melonie) Perez, Maribel (Bill) Larson, Alex Perez, Rocio (Don Carlyle) Perez; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Juan Vazquez; nephews, Johnny (Tina) Vazquez, and David (Tracy) Vazquez. Preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Herminia, husband, Neftali and sister Soledad Pintor. Visitation Monday, December 30, 2024 from 9 am to 9:45 am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1010 Ferguson Street, Rockford, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Father Father Ricardo Hernandez will officiate.
