Margie Mae Petrie, 82, of Loves Park died September 30, 2021. Born March 25, 1939 in Bancroft, WI; daughter of Harold and Bessie (Hutchinson) Ostrander. United in marriage to Edward Petrie on April 13, 1957 in Rockford. Margie was formerly employed at Walter Lawson Children's Home, where she worked as a cook. Margie loved gardening, plants and her Packers. She enjoyed dancing, playing slots and going to estate and garage sales with her husband. She was a fan of old school country music and traveled to Branson, which was one of her favorite places. Survived by her children, Deb Sallee, Diana (Joe) Lierman, James (Kathy) Petrie, Linda (Mike) Williams, Charlie (Christy) Petrie, Dawn (Reggie) Brooks; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, John Ostrander, Lorraine Butler; special friend, Charles Petrie; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial visitation on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 4301 N. Main St. Rockford. Followed by a celebration of life at 5 p.m. Minister Shirley Bondurant will officiate. Interment on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 9 a.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
