Dr. M. David Olson, 71 of Rockford was promoted to glory on May 23, 2010. Born on September 22, 1938 in Moline, son of Elmer and Lucille Olson. Graduate of the University of Iowa School of Dentistry. United in Marriage to Marcia Palmer on December 14, 1963 at The Salvation Army Rockford Temple. Life long member of The Salvation Army and The Rockford Temple Brass Band and Songsters. David was also a member of the Winnebago County Dental Society, and Past President of the Rockford Noon Lions Club. After his retirement he worked in customer service at CherryVale Mall. Survived by his wife, Marcia; children, Julie (Chris) Balliet, Tim (Liz) Olson; Jennifer Olson, Jill (Bernt) Carlson; grandchildren; Nick, Caitlin, Allison Balliet, Nathan Olson, Martin, Christian, Garrett Carlson; sisters, Ruthann Rogers and Rosemarie Olson. Preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at The Salvation Army Rockford Temple, 500 South Rockford Ave. at 4 pm, Major Larry Thorson, officiant. Visitation begins at 2:00 pm until the time of the service. Memorials to the family to be designated later. Cremation will be accorded.
