Lorraine Spencer, 90, of Rockford went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 30, 2012 at 10:15 a.m. in Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. She was born on February 4, 1922 in Fassetts, PA, daughter of Raymond and Bonnie (Cowan) Seymour. United in Marriage on November 28, 1942 to Bruce G. Spencer, Sr. Lorraine was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She took time to listen and encourage people and was truly her husband's partner in life and in ministry. Lorraine always put God first, lived in his Word and prayed daily for her family. She knew, even before her family did, which needs needed to be lifted to the Lord. She is survived by her children, Bruce (Maryland) Spencer, of Chippewa Falls, WI, Joy (George) Thornton of Dacula, GA, Douglas (Marita) Spencer of Ft. Dodge, IA, Dan (Patti) Spencer of Simpsonville, SC, Beth (Chris) Whitehead of Winnebago; 16 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Kenneth Seymour, Raymond Seymour, Lucille Grimes, and Bruce Seymour. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 1340 South Alpine Rd. Rockford, with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Pastor Richard Nelson will officiate. Interment in Belvidere Cemetery.
