Lester G. Mernack, 87 of Rockford died on Sunday, December 26, 2010 at 1:15 am at SwedishAmerican Hospital. He was born on December 10, 1923 in Alexandria, Minn. Son of Joseph and Christina (Larson) Mernack. Served in the US Army. Retired from Rockford Products, where he worked as a machinist. Survived by his wife of 33 years, Evelyn Mernack of Rockford; children, Alan (Helen) Mernack, Cheryl (Mike) Crimmins, Mike Mernack, daughter-in-law, Doris Mernack all of Rockford; 13 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren; brother, Jerry (Barb) Mernack of Rockford. Preceded in death by his parents, and infant son, Terry and son, Gary Mernack. A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum at 2:30 pm, 8800 N.Alpine Rd. Machesney Park. Pastor Pam Lojewski will officiate. Grace Funeral & Cremation Services is assisting the family.
