It is with great sadness that the family of Leona Faulkner of Rockton, IL announce her passing on June 27, 2023 at Javon Bea Hospital, Rockford, IL. Leona suffered a stroke and passed away peacefully with family at her side. Paul and Mae (Katzenberger) Knorr welcomed Leona Ann on January 6, 1932. She joined brothers Tom and Dick, growing up in Rockford. She married Raymond Faulkner and together they raised 6 children on a farm near Shirland, IL. It was a life filled with horses, German Shepherd dogs, any other animal needing a home and country music. Leona and Raymond chose to make part of the farm into River's Edge Campground and Coffee Shop. For over 25 years Leona served homestyle food to friends and customers. (For her they were one in the same). Many of those, plus family thought she was "The Best Cook Ever." There was always a place at her table for "Just One More." Leona tried to stay in touch with all of her family and heartily welcomed each new addition. Leona is lovingly survived by daughter LaRay (Rod) Flom, Kay Faulkner, Jay Ann (Rick) Bell; son, Bill (Sherri) Faulkner, Gary (Brenda) Faulkner, Ray Faulkner; grandchildren, Holly Matlock, Rodney II, Jeff, Jeni, Ben, Beth, Brandon; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Knorr and Theda Knorr; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; former husband, Raymond; granddaughter, Stacy Faulkner Langhoff; and "almost son," Tom Dobson. Per Leona's wishes there will be no services. Grace Funeral & Cremation Services assisted the family. Share a memory or condolence at
