Loved By Many and Will Never Be Forgotten

Laverne C. Fields, 75 of Rockford, formerly of Florida, was Promoted to Glory on Friday, October 8, 2011 at 3:15 a.m. She was born on December 17, 1935 in Hancock, WI; daughter of Allie and Beatrice Malthe. She was a soldier in the Salvation Army. Laverne will be greatly missed by her loving family; children, Mike Bloom of Florida, Ron (Linda) Bloom of Elgin, Patrick (Jennifer) Bloom of Mass., Caroline Ruggles of Rockford, Jeffrey Fields of Rockford; 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Darrell Malthe of Loves Park, Jerry (Leora) Malthe of Machesney Park, Ruth Johnson of Rockford; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, L.B. Davis and Odell Fields, and son Jim Bloom. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Salvation Army Temple, 500 South Rockford Ave. Rockford. Cremation rites will be accorded, private interment in Florida at a later date.
