Karin Elisabeth von Zychlin Gaines passed on October 26, 2012 at her home, surrounded by loved ones. She is survived by her children, Peter Karl Gaines of Chicago and Sarah Luise Gaines of Rockford. She is also survived by her mother, Magdalene von Zychlin of Sister Bay, WI; brother Claus von Zychlin (Susan) of Dublin, OH; sister Rev. Christa von Zychlin (Rev. Dr. Wayne Nieminen) of Hong Kong; nieces Kara von Zychlin and Kirsten von Zychlin; and nephews Kurt von Zychlin, Soren Nieminen, Torsten Nieminen, and Eric Nieminen. She is also survived by her most special friends Janyce Fadden, Mike Helstrom, Dan Marsh, Jennifer Hall, Rick Johnson, and Kathy McNeely-Johnson. She is preceded in death by her father, Paul von Zychlin. Private services will be held, contact Grace Funeral and Cremation Services at 815-395-0559 for information.
