Karen Christy-Hansford, 74, of Loves Park, went to be with our Lord on February 14, 2019 in P.A. Peterson Nursing Home after a long, brave battle with COPD. Born February 11, 1945 to William and Marian Cash, the 5th from the youngest of 13 children. Lifelong resident of the Rockford area. Married Dale West, father of her three children, Harold Christy and Thomas Hansford. Survived by her husband, Thomas; 6 sisters, 3 brothers, 5 step-children, 11 step-grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her children, Dale Jr., Sheila and Vickie; parents, 3 brothers, husband, Harold; and granddaughter, Amber. Private interment of cremated remains at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Celebration of Life to be announced. Special thank you to the entire staff of P.A.
