Julio Cesar Saenz, 35, of Rockford, passed away on August 17, 2026. Born September 27, 1990, in Rockford, he was the son of Jose and Josefina (Martinez) Saenz. Julio attended Jefferson High School and later earned his GED. He was employed by Hennig, where he worked as a painter.

Julio was a loving father, brother, son, uncle, and friend whose gentle nature endeared him to so many. He loved his family deeply and never hesitated to let the people in his life know just how much they meant to him. If Julio loved you, he made sure you knew it.

At the heart of Julio's life were his children. He was a tender, nurturing, and devoted father who had a special way with children. Gentle and patient by nature, Julio loved babies and genuinely enjoyed caring for them. His children loved and respected him for exactly who he was, and the kindness and affection he showed them will remain an important part of his legacy.

That same bond extended to his nieces and nephews, who looked up to and admired their uncle. Julio had a warmth about him that made children feel comfortable, cared for, and loved.

Creative and artistic, Julio expressed himself through his talent as a tattoo artist. He was also an avid gamer and especially enjoyed playing The Legend of Zelda. Whether he was creating art, spending time gaming, or simply being with the people he loved, Julio was happiest being himself and sharing his life with those closest to him.

Julio will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, creativity, and, above all, the tremendous amount of love he gave so freely. His life was far too short, but the love he poured into his children, family, and friends will continue to be felt by all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

Survived by his partner, Janet Fuentes children, Nayeli, Julio Jr., Elijah and Luciano; former spouse, Yazmin Sanchez; siblings, Ivy Saenz, Chrissol Saenz, Richard Saenz; grandmothers, Angelica Ortiz, Eva Alvarado; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandfathers.

Visitation on Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 10 am to 11 am at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 4301 N. Main St. Rockford, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. Fr. Ariel A.
