John C. Rahn, 75, of Durand died September 14, 2022 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born November 30, 1946 in Freeport; son of Chester and Elizabeth (Salisbury) Rahn. Graduate of Freeport High School. He obtained his technical degree in computer repair from DeVry University. John served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. United in marriage to Barbara Lamphier on December 9, 1967 at Court Street United Methodist Church in Rockford. He was the absolute best dad, husband, grandpa and great-grandpa anyone could ask for and will be greatly missed by his family. Survived by wife, Barb; daughters, Dawn (Eric) Wilson, Jennifer (Jon) Schulz, Kim (Chad West) Schleis; grandchildren, Kourtney (Charles) Rieder, Natassia Gonzalez, Spencer Schleis, Keaghan Gonzalez, Wilson Schleis, Kaitlyn Schleis, Allie Clutter, Dean Schleis, Sass Schleis, Lily Schleis, Ella Clutter; great-grandchildren, Saelir Rieder, Mia Minks, Ryatt Minks, Ryver Rieder, Jagger Minks; brother-in-law, Roger Fuller; several nieces, nephews, cousins, a circle of extended family; special friends, Don and Mary Knorr, Dennis and Wilma Lotz; and beloved dogs, Millie, Lizzy and Jessie. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Judy Fuller. Visitation on Monday, September 19, 2022 from 11 am to 12 pm, followed by a funeral service at 12 pm at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 4301 N. Main St. Rockford.
