Jodie Newell, 69, of Rockford passed away on September 14, 2015 in his home, after battling cancer. Born on May 20, 1946 in Rockford, son of Jack and Betty (Newell) Mortimore. United in marriage to Colleen Noble on June 3, 1967. Formerly employed at NAPA Auto Parts, retired from Modern Metals. Obtained his GED from Harlem High School. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. Survived by his wife, Colleen; children, John Newell, Nicole (Paris Catlin) Newell; grandchildren, Adrian, Jalen and Christian; siblings, Becky Hohn, Mike Mortimore and David Mortimore; and a host of nieces and nephews.
