Obituary

JoAnn Johnson, 86, of Rockford died on July 2, 2019. Born July 18, 1932 in Rockford, daughter of Glen and Ruth (Clarke) Carter. JoAnn worked at the Center for Sight and Hearing for 15 years. While there, she became the first woman to be a member of the Lion's Club in Rockford, as well as the first President of the Rockford Noon Lions Club. She enjoyed doing things with family, loved to travel on trips and adventures. She rafted down the Colorado River, through the Grand Canyon and slept on the canyon floor; and also rafted the Snake River for a week. She loved going to AZ for 3 months for 10 years straight. She was an avid Cubs fans, watching as many games as possible. Survived by her children, Cindy (Craig) Roberts, Kathy Doulabi, Sue (John) Kelly, Mike Bryan; grandkids, Brett (Becky) Roberts, Corey (Lee) Itson, Darci Clark, Matt (Renee) Clark, Mina Doulabi, Ashton Doulabi; great-grandchildren, Grace, Kaelyn, Cordell, Kendra, Adison, Savanna, Drew and Avia; and dog, Destiny.
