Joan Ella Anderson, 82, of Rockford went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 18, 2016. Born on January 20, 1934 in Hollis, NY; daughter of Henry and Mary (Slack) Morrison. Joan obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Barrington College, where she majored in Bible and Missions. She was a missionary in Venezuela with the Evangelical Alliance Mission for 37 years. United in Marriage to David Anderson on August 25,1956 at Belrose Baptist Church in Melrose, NY. Survived by her sons, David "Andy" (Ruth) Anderson of Winnetka, Daniel (Joan) Anderson of Westchester, Timothy (Karina) Anderson of Geneva, and Lt. Col. (Ret.) Steven (Linnea) Anderson of Geneva; and nine grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Virginia Ruth. Funeral service on Friday, July 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center, 3470 N. Alpine Rd. Rockford. Visitation 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at Fairhaven. Rev.
