Jerry L. Frang, 69, of Rockford died on November 4, 2015 in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Born on June 19, 1946 in Rockford, son of Emery and Ruby (Barnett) Frang. Graduate of East High School. He served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. Jerry obtained his Bachelor Degree in Science from Northern Illinois University and his Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Northern Illinois Univeristy. He was formerly employed at Kennedy School as a math teacher, retiring from Rock Valley College, where he was a math professor. He also worked as the night manager at Don Carter Lanes for many years. He was a life long member of the Optimist Club, and a Member of the Vietnam Veterans of America. Jerry is survived by his son, Corey Frang of Boston MA; brothers, Larry Frang of Springfield IL, Ron Frang of Springfield IL, Bill (Vicki) Frang of Loveland CO, Aunt Joan Pennock of Rockford IL; and Uncle Ralph Frang of Golden, CO. Preceded in death by his parents, and wife Martha. A Celebration of Jerry's Life will be on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Heartland Community Church, 1280 South Alpine Rd. Rockford, with memorial visitation at 12:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment in Arlington Memorial Park.
