Jerry L. Erxleben, 71, of Rockford died on May 17, 2017 in his home. Born on August 20, 1945 in Stillman Valley, son of Walter and Lois (Hain) Erxleben. Graduate of Stillman Valley High School. United in marriage to Lana Kline on October 10, 1964 in Monroe Center. Jerry was the co-owner of Office Outfitters in Rockford. He was a huge Chicago sports fan, always carrying the sports page in his back pocket. Jerry was Bears season ticket holder for 40 years. He enjoyed golfing and was known as the "Commish" on the Chrysler Retiree Golf League. Member of Heartland Community Church. Survived by his wife, Lana; children, Brett Erxleben of Rockford and Krista (Brian) O'Malley of Omaha, NE; beloved grandchildren, Marin and Finley O'Malley; siblings, David (Judy) Erxleben of Montrose, IA, Alan (Brenda) Erxleben, of Green Bay, WI, Kathy (Tom) Johnson of Eugene, OR; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Dick (Janaan) Harms, Jim (Mardell) Harms, Tom (Kathy) Harms, and Louan Dallman. Preceded in death by his parents. Visitation on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. at Heartland Community Church, 1280 S. Alpine Rd. Rockford. Celebration of life on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Gordy Smith will officiate. Interment in Monroe Center Cemetery.
